Cars in German Town Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Officers stated they were notified by a resident who noticed a automobile in Hanau smeared with red-colored fluid

Around 50 vehicles have been marked with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Cars, exterior walls and mailboxes were defaced, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they reported in a statement.

Officers say they were notified during the night on Wednesday, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued fluid.

The liquid had been applied in the pattern of a banned symbol, they stated.

Officers then found numerous other smeared cars and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement report early analysis show the liquid was most likely blood from a person.

"At present there remains no lead as to where it came from; investigators are not yet aware of any physical harm in relation with the event," they commented.

Local authorities stated they were attempting "to unravel the incident" and have requested to the public for information.

An important official stated the attack left him speechless and had to be resolved rapidly.

"This act affects the center of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the far-right attack five years ago," he posted on a platform, referring to the death of nine people by a gunman focusing on people of migrant background in 2020.
