Exactly 135 days after the previous coach's first press conference as Rangers head coach, his replacement the German coach met with reporters at Ibrox for the initial occasion.

The magnitude of the challenge ahead of him is widely recognized, considering Martin's chaotic and disappointing four-month tenure.

The former Wednesday manager was accompanied by chairman the chairman, along with the frequently questioned duo of sporting director Thelwell and CEO Patrick Stewart.

However, what exactly did we learn from the young German's first public appearance as Rangers boss?

The Manager's Primary Focus - Winning Comes First

A single message came through clearly from the new coach's first appearance in front of the local press - he understands the necessity to win matches, and do so quickly.

His predecessor Martin lasted only 17 games and 123 days as manager, so the question arose about what timeframe the new man thinks is reasonable to transform the underperforming squad.

Although deftly avoiding a specific response that might create future pressure, the coach's communication was very evident.

"Hopefully very quickly," he said. "This is crucial.
"In football you have limited time. One can talk about future plans but we know it's about immediate results and the short-term is about securing victories. This is what I demand.
"One thing is also clear - I need all players to comprehend how we want to perform. I return to my main message: it's winning, it's attractive and unity. By following this sequence, I'm convinced that I'll stay for years at the club."

Pressure is Normal

Martin required security protection to exit the stadium after his last match as manager.

We've seen how toxic environments can become at sports teams when performances decline. Protests have nearly become a regular aspect of game day atmosphere on both sides of the city these days.

As the club's most youthful manager in history, the inquiry asked about what qualities Rohl believes he possesses that would allow him to cope, let alone thrive, in one of the highest-pressure positions in UK soccer?

"I think expectations in this business is normal," he commented. "You must learn that very quickly.
"I believe certain individuals might mention my youth but I'm a decade and a half on this path. I had an excellent chance to work with the German club and serve as only an assistant coach, but I felt the reality to manage a team and the demands you face.
"You begin winning games and then certain people will say you need to play attractive soccer. That's the next phase but precisely my intention. I relish that challenge and I look forward about the future."

The Sporting Director Explains Striker Acquisition & Hiring His Son

Kevin Thelwell media conference

The media pack had numerous questions from the media directed at Thelwell.

Much discussion has focused on the appointment of Robbie Thelwell as head of recruitment, with fans unconvinced about his credentials for the position.

However, he justified and explained the choice to recruit Thelwell Jnr to the club.

"It remains uncomfortable to hear and in appearance I think everyone understood when we took this decision to hire him that he'd be seen negatively," Thelwell said.
"The truth of circumstances is that we want to attract the very best players here.
"My view on Robbie's career and background is he required no family help in football.
"He's worked at Aston Villa as head scout, he then joined Norwich City as head of scouting and then got promoted to development role.
"Prior to our hiring him, multiple top division clubs wanted to sign him. Our approach right at the start of proceedings was discuss with Patrick, Andrew and vice-chairman Marathe about this matter.
"I remained highly transparent and I think he likely experienced a stricter procedure than any other who's employed by this football club.
"I'm certain is that he will work constantly to achieve success for Rangers and I anticipate to him demonstrating that he's going to be a valuable employee for Rangers."

Thelwell also defended the signing of striker Youssef Chermiti, who joined the club for an alleged initial fee of eight million pounds, after failing to score in 24 games for Everton.

The sporting director who brought the Portuguese young international to Liverpool from Sporting Lisbon - again for significant money in a fifteen million pound deal.

He was asked if he supports his expensive signing, who hasn't yet score in seven outings for Rangers.

"Yes, very much so," Thelwell answered. "I believe the striker is a player who's possesses huge potential.
"I haven't doubted him in any way. Similarly, I think Danny will help to maximize the potential out of Youssef.
"It's very early days for the young player, he's a promising prospect and of course with inexperienced players they occasionally take time.
"But I'm certain over the course of his career here he'll demonstrate that he is very, very good footballer."

The CEO Understands Supporters' Disappointment and Hurt

The chief executive was facing scrutiny, considering the criticism that has been aimed at him by some club own supporters.

Additionally, there was a banner in the Sandy Jardine stand during the last tie with United suggesting Stewart - and the sporting director - to depart before they were packed for them.

Similar to the football director, the CEO did not avoid the issue.

"I completely understand the disappointment and anger that the supporters are experiencing because performances this season haven't met expectations and no one is happy with them," he said.
"The pain and frustration fans experience is matched inside the leadership.
"Also understand that there must exist an outlet for those frustrations and in my role, I'm responsible.
"I'm a lightning rod for such issues and my role as a
